Purpose of the position:
The purpose of this position is to provide leadership in CMAM/MIYCN interventions in Gogrial East Integrated nutrition project. The Nutrition officer will work closely with all facility-based Staff to ensure that MIYCN/CMAM activities are well integrated into the Health Care system. The officer will be accountable for delivery of quality MIYCN education and supporting the community groups and facility- based staff to deliver the same. The incumbent will ensure CMAM/MIYCN outputs and outcomes are delivered as per project documents and responsible for the daily technical implementation, supervision, monitoring and reporting of the field activities and ensuring proper coordination with beneficiaries.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
e Provide technical implementation of CMAM/MIYCN interventions in emergency context. Maintain adequate supply chain management for nutrition supplies, M&E tools and equipment and coordinate with the responsible authorities to dispatch SC/OTP/TSFP supplies nutrition centres.
Compile, consolidate, review and submit the progress reports as well as ensure proper documentation of such records.
Conduct mentorship, monitoring and supervision and ensure the CMAM & MIYCN interventions are integrated with other sectors to produce greater results.
Provide team leadership among the health and nutrition staff and demonstrate responsible team management, talent development and staff care, aimed at providing conducive working environment and produce good working relationship.
Qualifications/Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience:
Bachelor Degree in Public Health, Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Medicine, Nursing or related field with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
Excellent understanding of the dynamics of conflict resolution in the context of war and extensive knowledge of Warrap State, South Sudan
Understanding of community management of acute malnutrition and Computer skills knowledge and applications, especially Ms Word and Excel. Experience in planning and organizing activities in a variety of locations.
Proven capacity to supervise, train and coach local staff and community workers. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and representational and communications skills essential, and a team-oriented work style is a necessity.
